Living under the DFW flight path? Here's what an interior acrylic panel can and can't do about aircraft noise — including where Irving isn't as loud as you'd think.
Irving is the airport city. DFW International sits partly inside the city limits, so for a lot of Irving homes the loudest thing coming through the windows isn't the highway — it's what's flying over it.

DFW is one of the busiest airports on the planet: 743,394 aircraft operations in 2025, and fourth-busiest in the world by passenger volume. That's aircraft overhead more or less continuously, and depending on which way the airport is running that day, you get south-flow arrivals or north-flow departures crossing different parts of the city. Now the honest part, because it matters more than a sales pitch: not all of Irving is affected the same way. Las Colinas, despite sitting close to the airport, is notably better for aircraft noise than its location would suggest. If you're in Las Colinas and a plane overhead isn't actually what's bothering you, we'll say so rather than sell you a fix for a problem you don't have.

On the ground, Irving is wrapped in highway — SH-114, I-635 (the LBJ), SH-183 (the Airport Freeway), and SH-161 (the President George Bush Turnpike) — steady traffic noise layered under the aircraft. DART's Orange Line runs right out to DFW Airport, and the TRE commuter line crosses the city toward Fort Worth, so there's rail in the mix too.
If you rent or you're
in a condo, this fits.
Las Colinas has a lot of mid- and high-rise condo stock, and that changes the math. In a condo or a rental, replacing the windows usually isn't even on the table — the HOA won't allow it, or it simply isn't your call. Our panels don't touch the window. They mount on the inside with a magnetic frame and lift right off, so there's nothing structural to get approved and nothing to undo when you move. For a lot of Irving residents that isn't just the better option, it's the only one.
What the panels do

The panel adds a layer of optically clear acrylic and a sealed air gap over your existing window, and that gap is what blocks the sound (the full how-it-works is here). On aircraft it does well, because turbine and engine noise lives in the high-frequency range that drops the most — up to about 70% of what comes through the glass. The deep rumble of a big jet at low altitude is reduced, not eliminated. We'll be straight about which flights you'll stop noticing and which you'll just notice less.

Yes — on the high-frequency part (turbine whine, engine noise), which is most of it. The deep rumble of a low jet is softened, not gone.
I'm in Las Colinas. Do I even need this?
Maybe not, if aircraft is your only concern — Las Colinas is less affected than its location suggests. If it's highway or neighbor noise, that's a different answer. We measure before we recommend anything.
I'm in a condo and can't replace my windows. Does that rule me out?
The opposite. The panels don't modify the window, so there's nothing for the HOA to approve, and they come off clean if you move.
