US-75, the Central Expressway, carries the heaviest traffic straight up the middle of the city, and the DART Red Line runs the same corridor with its Richardson-area stations. So near the spine you get steady tire roar and the periodic pass of a train from the same direction. Both are mostly high-frequency, which is the range the panels handle best.
